Ever since the Supreme Court ruled in favor of legalizing gay marriage on June 26th, we immediately heard the response of the Gay Rights movement indicating that their work wasn’t complete. They want to continue to raise gay awareness in schools and Christian Institutions around the South, Midwest and the Great Plains where Christians live in great numbers.
Now we have the Oregon Labor Commissioner ruling against Aaron and Melissa Klein, owners of Sweet Cakes Bakery on July 2nd for refusing to bake a cake for a lesbian couple’s wedding based off of the religious beliefs. They were fined $135,000.00 and were issued a gag order not to discuss the rulings of the case. On top of the other penalties, they will also need to go through a re-education class to teach them to be more tolerant and accepting of the gay rights agenda. They had to close down their business, endure harassment and threats, not to mention having their vehicles broken into and vandalized for standing up against the immoralities of others.
Did I also forget to mention the frivolous lawsuit that is being pursued by Bradley LaShawn Fowler in Michigan? He is suing 2 publishing companies, Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Publishers, for Anti-Gay references in the Bible translations of the NIV Bible(New International Version). He says that he has suffered emotional distress and mental instability for the past 20 years from reading versions of the Bible that regard homosexuality as a sin and is seeking $70 million dollars in damages. Perhaps he will also request for them to print him a special edition of the Queen James Bible that the LGBT have come up with in response to mold Christianity into their image without homosexuality being a sin.
Around the world, millions of Christians have been persecuted for their beliefs and have paid for these “crimes” by being imprisoned or killed. We have known this, but for most of us we just shook our heads, prayed for them and went about our day. Now we are going to get a taste of it in America.
I hope and pray that when that time comes for you, that you will stand firm in your beliefs and not renounce your faith to save your reputation or to save yourself from being looked down on. Do not worry for what will become of you. We all know that if you stand for Christ in this life, he will stand for you in the next life.
We will all need to endure some form of persecution for Christ, It comes with the territory. We have been warned of this plenty of times in the Bible and we were told that it will only get worse when we get closer to the 2nd coming of Christ. This is when we must stand the tallest and pray to God to give us the strength and courage to endure the suffering.
19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside.
20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy;
21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.
22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.
23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
